Welcome Robot at Stanford

An iPad-only stop-motion animation made during lunch break that ended up in a Stanford University talk. Take that, 'consumption device' argument.

A friend gave a talk on tablets in creative computing at Stanford, and my iPad-only stop-motion animation “Welcome Robot” featured in it.

The whole thing was created during a single lunch break on a new iPad 2. Shot in I Can Animate, scored in GarageBand, assembled in iMovie with titles from Keynote. Four apps, one lunch break, zero desktop computers.

Context: at the time, arguments were still flying about whether the iPad was “solely a consumption device.” This was my answer to that.
